Kent’s coast is the perfect destination for a day out this half term. It’s local, free and fun for the whole family! Let the kids wear themselves out running along beaches and boardwalks, give them a taste of history at Dover Castle, or go nature spotting in one of our beautiful nature reserves.

To keep the kids entertained we’ve created some activity sheets featuring some of the things you’ll spot along the England Coast Path:

Things to Spot on the Coast Path – Dungeness to Whitstable (PDF, 680 KB)

Things to Spot on the Coast Path – Faversham to Dartford (PDF, 234 KB)

Colour in the Coast – Things to Find on the Beach (PDF, 381 KB)

Colour in the Coast – Wildlife (PDF, 370 KB)

Colour in the Coast – Sailing Boat (PDF, 188 KB)

See how many things you can spot on your adventure. Will you see a ship in the distance? Or go searching for sea creatures in rock pools along the beach? Just remember – if you do spot any wildlife don’t get too close or disturb it.

Coastal Walks

Need more inspiration? Try out one of our favourite family friendly walks along the coast path, from the tranquility of the Royal Military Canal, to the colourful beach huts of Minnis Bay. Children can also take part in the Junior Walking Challenge and earn certificates for their walks!
