About the King Charles III England Coast Path
From seaside castle to the wild North Kent marshes, the King Charles III England Coast Path (KCIIIECP) is a delight to walk, whether it’s the full length of smaller sections of it. The KCIIIECP is a walking route that will follow the entire coast of England. The path is being opened in sections but will, when completed, be the longest managed coastal path in the world.
The Higham Marshes walk begins at Gravesend Pier and takes in many remains of historical interest. Leave bustling Gravesend town behind and enjoy this tranquil stretch of the KCIIIECP with wildlife filled marshes on one side and the River Thames to the other.
Follow the KCIIIECP west from Northfleet and you will reach the Swanscombe Peninsula Trail. The area contain several nature reserves, including Greenhithe Local Nature Reserve and Swanscombe Marsh Local Nature Reserve.
Further along the coast
There are some fantastic locations along the Kent coast you can visit by Southeastern trains. See the southeastern website for train times.
