Gravesham Walking & Cycling Routes
Higham Marshes: Head east from Gravesend along part of the England Coast Path to reach Higham Marshes on this 8-mile (12.8km) circular trail.
Luddesdown Trek: Begin at Shorne Woods Country Park and head south through Cobham Woods and Mausoleum to Luddesdown (passing Silverhand Estate) on this 8.3-mile (13.36km) circular trail.
Meopham Walk: Starting at Camer Country Park, head towards Meopham (passing Meopham Valley Vineyard) on this 4.7-mile (7.56km) circular trail.
From Trosley Country Park, follow the Trosley Ramble for a 3.5-mile (5.63km) circular trail or follow Harvel Hike for a longer walk on this 6.6-mile (10.62km) circular trail.
Alternatively, you can walk a section of the Wealdway from Gravesend, heading past Sole Street and Luddesdown.

See the remains of the Grade II listed fort built in the 1780s to defend the River Thames from the French navy. Explore the underground tunnel network and bunkers, with interpretation boards providing details on the fort’s history from its creation to its role in WWII.

Milton Chantry
Originally a 14th century hospital, Milton Chantry also served as a Tudor chantry chapel, public house and Georgian barracks. The building is now home to a collection of Roman artefacts and other items showcasing Gravesend’s history.

Glimpse into the past with a tour of Gravesend’s Cold War Bunker. Re-quipped as it was in the 1950s, the bunker includes a domestic fallout room, communications room and replica radiation monitoring post.

Train – Gravesend Train Station is located in the centre of town and is within a walkable distance of many of the points of interest. Sole Street and Meopham train stations are the closest stations for points of interest and green spaces south of Gravesend/the A2.
Bus – Arriva runs bus services to and from Gravesend. Redroute runs bus services between Gravesend, Meopham, Sole Street and Vigo Village.
Cycle Parking – There are cycle parking stands at Gravesend and Meopham train stations.
Remember you can take your bike on any Southeastern train unless the train arrives or departs London during peak hours – but you can take a fold up bike anytime.
