Dover to Deal: 3 Castles Walk
Start your walking route at the National Trust White Cliffs Visitor Centre. It provides free parking to members but charges apply to other visitors – you can check opening times here.
See amazing views of Dover Castle from your cliff top start point and follow the path towards the South Foreland Lighthouse where you will see chalk grassland that is home to many unusual plants and insects.
The White Cliffs of Dover are an official Icon of Britain and have been a sign of hope and freedom for centuries and have a fascinating military and penal history.

Stop off at the South Foreland Lighthouse and take a short pit-stop at Mrs Knotts tearoom – treat yourself to a piece of cake and a hot drink in the former lighthouse keeper’s cottage.
The Victorian lighthouse was built to warn mariners and to guide them through the Straight of Dover. The lighthouse was the first to display an electric light anywhere in the world!
