Step inside a rare surviving medieval Bridge Chapel and adjoining Victorian Bridge Chamber, and discover over 600 years of history at Rochester Bridge.
The chapel, commissioned in 1393, once served as a stopping point for travellers along historic Watling Street. Over time, it has been used as a pub, home, and shop before its restoration in the 20th century.
Visitors can also explore the adjoining Victorian chamber, completed in 1879, which offers stunning views across the River Medway and Rochester Castle. The space showcases historic furniture and artwork.
Highlights include pieces from the Rochester Bridge Trust’s collection, including artwork by renowned artist Dame Tracey Emin, displayed onsite.
Part of Heritage Open Days, this offers a unique opportunity to explore a historic site not normally open to the public.
