At Active Medway cycling projects, we have always prided ourselves on delivering lower distance, weekday, steady bike rides across Medway. Our regular participants come from a number of cycling backgrounds, from those that have learnt to ride through to those that prefer a steadier pace of cycling.

Medway Health Walks lead Co-Ordinators will be working with a local British Cycling Accredited Coach to deliver a Learn2Ride with “The big Bike Revival Event for beginner Adults” who are wanting to start the activity of cycling and learning to ride their bicycle.
We prioritise teaching adults to ride a bicycle as it’s never too late to learn. We can make it an opportunity for parents to learn and encourage family activities such as cycling together.

About the session:
• You must bring your own bicycle and we strongly recommend your wear a helmet for your own safety. For training purposes only, we as that your bike will be of a comfortable size that you can sit on the bike with both feet on the floor. We will only be practising balance and co-ordination as cycling is a skill that needs to be practised in your own time.
• This course is reserved for learners who are taking their first steps in ‘A Cycling for wellbeing Journey’. Other family members are welcome to cycle sensibly (we cannot and will not supervise their and you accept responsibility for your child).
• By the end of the session, we will help you gain an understanding of your bike including stopping and starting, balancing with your feet off the floor and start to co-ordinate pedalling a short distance.
• Everyone will have a different experience when learning to cycle, some will take to it quickly and some will need some practise, and we will offer support an encourage for both pathways.
• You will be asked to fill in a survey online about your cycling habits and enter into a free prize draw, offered by CyclingUK
