Love Parks in Kent this Summer!

Love Parks Week is back  from 29 July to 5 August, giving people across the country the chance to shout about their wonderful green spaces. And in Kent we have a lot to shout about – this week forty-five parks across the county won Green Flag Awards!

These award-winning outdoor spaces have been recognised for their quality, good practice and accessibility to their local communities. Check out the map below to see all the winners, or read on for some of our favourites.

Parks we love:

Shorne Woods Country ParkThings to do here include the eco-friendly visitor centre and café, a sensory garden, fishing lakes, trim trail, picnic and play areas.
Children play in the river at Mote Park.Mote ParkEnjoy 450 acres of historic parkland, a wide variety of facilities, attractions and scenery - an excellent place to go for a day out.
A family stand on the bridge at Capstone FarmCapstone Farm Country ParkThe park has a well equipped visitor centre with disabled access, family friendly facilities, natural history displays and the scenic lakeside café.
Family walk their dog at Russell Gardens.Kearsney Abbey and Russell GardensA mixture of open parkland, gardens and wildlife habitats, as well as play areas and a cafe make this a park with something for everyone!
Samphire HoeExplore this wildlife haven beneath the famous white cliffs, relax on the pebble beach or grab a snack from the kiosk.

Pegwell BayPegwell Bay Country ParkStunning views, a play area, picnic area and mobile refreshments make this a great day out for all the family.
Duck by Leybourne lakeLeybourne Lakes With a brand new eco-café and Watersports centre that opened earlier this month, this is the perfect spot to relax with lakeside views.
Lower Leas Coastal ParkLower Leas Coastal ParkThis beachside park features formal gardens, multiple play areas in the "fun zone" and thriving habitats in the "wild zone".
