Oxenhill Shaw and Meadow
Located roughly halfway between the villages of Kemsing and Otford, just north of Sevenoaks, Oxenhill Shaw and Meadow is ideal for walking, featuring a network of paths that run through managed meadow and woodland.
As recently as 1979 the site was arable farmland, but since then it has developed into an attractive mixture of chalk grassland, trees and shrubs. There are no specific cycle routes on the site, but a tarmacked public bridleway runs along the northern edge of the site, which can be used by cyclists and is also wheelchair accessible. Oxenhill can be accessed either from Nightingale Road in Kemsing, where car parking is available (and where there are open playing fields and a playground), or from Tudor Drive in Otford. It is only a 10 minute walk from Otford Station.
A narrow lane also links the site with the nearby Palace park wood, less than half a mile away, while towards the east Kemsing Downs affords beautiful views over the downs. Oxenhill can be accessed either from Nightingale Road in Kemsing, where car parking is available (and where there are open playing fields and a playground), or from Tudor Drive in Otford. It is only a 10 minute walk from Otford Station
Easy access information
This park and open space contains uneven trails, un-surfaced or narrow pathways. Also, there are width restricting features, such as stiles and narrow gaps making it difficult for visitors with pushchairs and/or wheelchairs to access some parts of the site.
