Oakfield Park
Set in a slight valley surrounded by the residential area of Oakfield Park just to the south of Dartford town centre, this local recreation ground is divided into two, with a line of trees separating the sports pitches to the east of the site from the meadow area and woodland to be found at its western end. A playground for kids can be reached by walking along the football pitches, with picnic tables and a new tyre swing.
The sports fields are used for cricket as well as football, with Wilmington Cricket Club playing their home matches here. Parking is available at the entrance to the site via Oakfield Park Road, although this is locked early during winter months. The Parish Office is also based at the Pavilion at Oakfield Park, meaning the site is always active, and making it a real hub for local community activities.
Easy access information
This park and open space contains uneven trails, un-surfaced or narrow pathways. Also, there are width restricting features, such as stiles and narrow gaps making it difficult for visitors with pushchairs and/or wheelchairs to access some parts of the site.
