Royal Tunbridge Wells lies in an unspoilt Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Getting Around Actively!

Active Travel is the simplest and most environmentally friendly way to get around this quaint historic town, with a striking, exhilarating cycle route, the Wealden Cycle Trail. This cycle route is a 42-mile route linking Ashford to Tunbridge Wells forms part of National Cycle Route 18. This route is the perfect way to take in Kent’s quintessential scenery, from hops and apple orchards to oast houses and picturesque villages.

You can also enjoy exploring this town by foot with the walking routes around Royal Tunbridge Wells. One of these routes, the Tunbridge Wells Common Easy Access Trail, is a short circular walk of 0.86 miles around the Pantiles historic common on tarmac paths.

Another striking, beautiful walk which you can enjoy while in the beautiful town is the Tunbridge Wells Circular Walk, a route which passes through the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty around Royal Tunbridge Wells and through the villages of Southborough, Pembury, Frant, Groombridge and Speldhurst. Enjoy the undulating countryside, a landscape of patchwork fields, broad-leaved woodland and parkland with features of archaeological, historical interest.

Make sure to visit Dunorlan Park while visiting Tunbridge Well and while enjoying some time in the beautiful park, make sure to adventure on Dunorlan Park Walk, which is a short circular walk around the ornamental lake is this beautiful Victorian park. This route is also an easy access work which makes it easy for all ages and abilities to enjoy!

 

Royal Tunbridge Wells is less than an hour by train from London Charing Cross, Gatwick Airport and Ashford International rail stations. Regular direct train services operate from Tunbridge Wells to London and Hastings. Tunbridge Wells is also well served by a number of different bus companies, with regular services across the local area.

With stunning views of the High Weald AONB and public transport right on your doorstep, Royal Tunbridge Wells offers many activities for a day out.
