Churchfields (Green Space Rochester Medway)
Churchfields is a roughly rectangular greenspace which lies just 500m south-west of Rochester High Street. There are two diagonal pathways which intersect in the middle.
The slopes face North-West and benefit from views overlooking the River Medway.
The most defining feature ensures that the gradient of Churchfields can offer one of the best panoramic and scenic views in Rochester. To enjoy this view, look towards the River Medway and you will enjoy the Esplanade and a single row of semi-mature lime and sycamore trees on a backdrop of the rolling hills around Strood all the way to the valley by Cuxton.
The Friends of Rochester Churchfields & Esplanade (FoRCE) are a volunteer group who were inaugurated in January 2020 with the aim of helping to protect, promote, conserve and enhance the green space and river walks for the enjoyment and well-being of local residents, the wider community and visitors.
You can also explore Rochester with a local walking group. For more information about any local groups, you can visit the Medway Health Walks Location list.
