Before you join a Ramblers Wellbeing Walk: Medway

By joining any walk or activity, you acknowledge and accept that participation is undertaken at your own risk.

In the event of an accident, injury, loss, or damage, however caused, no legal liability will be accepted by:

• the walking group;
• group organisers;
• affiliated organisations; or
• any associated individuals.

You are responsible for assessing your own fitness and ability to take part, ensuring your personal safety, and determining the suitability of any equipment, clothing, and footwear you choose to use.

Participants are responsible for wearing suitable clothing and footwear appropriate to the weather conditions, terrain, and nature of the activity.

Please note that walk leaders, route leaders, volunteers, and coordinators are not medically qualified professionals and cannot provide medical advice.

If you have a medical condition, mobility issue, injury, or any health concerns that may affect your ability to participate safely, you should seek advice from your GP or another appropriately qualified healthcare professional before taking part.

Please ensure you carry any medication you may require during the walk, such as an inhaler, EpiPen, or other prescribed medication, and bring sufficient drinking water appropriate to the weather conditions and duration of the activity.

Walks may involve uneven surfaces, slopes, steps, shared-use paths, road crossings, adverse weather conditions, and other hazards commonly associated with outdoor activities. Participants should always take reasonable care and follow any reasonable instructions provided by the walk leader to help ensure the safety and wellbeing of the group.

For your own safety, we recommend keeping your mobile phone’s emergency contact (ICE) information up to date, so that the appropriate person can be contacted in the event of an emergency while you are participating in an activity.
