The Medway Mile 2026 returns as a free mass participation event welcoming runners, joggers and walkers of all ages and abilities. Taking place in and around Medway Park, the event brings together thousands of people to enjoy an active evening in a supportive, community-focused atmosphere.
The event celebrates the diversity of sport and physical activity in Medway and forms part of the Love Gillingham campaign. Participants can take part in the main one‑mile route, with a track finish adding to the sense of occasion.
Alongside the mass mile, the programme includes children’s races, family races, competitive club and relay races, elite track mile races and a novelty mascot race. A wide range of free sports activities, demonstrations and tasters will run throughout the evening.
Live entertainment, food vendors and family‑friendly activities will be available on site. Junior participants will receive medals, and no pre‑registration is required for children’s fun races, making it easy for families to get involved.
