Explore the beautiful and flat walking route from Hythe to Sandgate. Start your morning from fisherman’s beach in Hythe and head east towards Sandgate along the England Coast Path or dive inland and follow the canal path up to Seabrook to enjoy the tranquillity and wildlife.

Complete your walk from Sandgate towards your end point of Folkestone harbour. Again, walk along the England Coast Path passing by beach houses in Sandgate. As you approach Folkestone notice the creativeness seeping into the landscapes with colourful wooden huts scattering the promenade. Finish your walk at the harbour arm, a popular area for locals during the out of season months and full of out of towners in the summer months.

Explore the Creative Quarter in the old high street and learn about the arty culture of this seaside town. There are also the Folkestone Artworks, the UK’s largest urban contemporary art exhibition, its free and accessible 24 hours a day all year around. Sited outdoors around the town and harbour, the artworks pop up in both scenic and surprising locations. The changing exhibition, currently consisting of 74 artworks.

The England Coast Path from Hythe to Folkestone is accessible for those using wheelchairs or pushchairs as there are no step, stiles or gates along the entire route. However, is the whole route seems a tad much then the Lower Leas Coastal Park in Folkestone is fully accessible with wide surfaced paths following the coastal but through beautiful landscaped green space.

South Eastern trains run regularly to Folkestone Central and Folkestone West, both are connected to the High Speed Link from St Pancras, London. As well as connecting trains from all over Kent. The nearest train station to Hythe is Sandling, near Saltwood.
