Learn how to make traditional rustic wreaths and spectacular floral crowns using woodland materials, immersed in the serene and historic surroundings of Kent's Admiral Woods, before tucking into a delicious local picnic. Led by Avril Howard, experienced florist & teacher.

Let nature be your souvenir from this meditative, relaxing and creative Experience in Admiral Woods. Surrounded by the peaceful fauna and flora of the forest, your host, Avril Howard, will show you how she uses her 10 years of experience as a florist to arrange flowers and plants in all kinds of artistic ways — and how the forest inspires her from one season to the next.

You’ll then have the opportunity to create your very own forest crown. Avril will show you the basic technique, give you guidance about what materials work best and how to forage sustainably, but then you’ll be free to be as creative as you like; make a unique forest crown, great for festivals or your next summer party.

Once you’ve got the technique down, you can use the same principle for tons of different ideas — from wedding flower crowns to garlands; for any season as well as with dried flowers! This Experience not only allows you to spend time in the beautiful Kent woodlands but also gives you a skill for life.

Once you’ve spent a mindful morning learning your newest skill, you’ll then get to sit (in your new crown!) and enjoy a delicious local picnic, handmade by Macknades in Faversham featuring local food and drinks. A great way to get creative with nature, learn about the history and wonder of the ancient woodlands, and leave with some unique treats to take home.
