An opportunity to view the wildlife along the canal from a very different perspective. Guided by coaches from the Seapoint Canoe Centre, participants will paddle either Canadian open canoes or bell boats along the canal between Seabrook and West Hythe. This gentle paddle, with frequent stops to observe the wildlife, will provide an introduction to the wide array of plants and animals that frequent the water and banks of this unique waterway. Rich in fish, the waters of the canal attract mute swans and grey herons, and the observant might catch a glimpse of brightly coloured kingfisher. It can be cold on the water. A waterproof cagoule and buoyancy aid will be provided but participants should bring warm clothing, suitable footwear, and a sunhat and sun cream if the weather is sunny.

Bring your own lunch. We will be making toilet/ refreshment stops en-route.
