A special walk led by Refugee Tales walkers from Gatwick Detainees Welfare Group for people who have sought asylum and those who wish to show solidarity with them.

This beautiful, circular walk, led by Refugee Tales walkers from Gatwick Detainees Welfare Group, is for people who have sought asylum and those who wish to show solidarity with them. The walk will start from Canterbury West Rail Station and will travel through the orchards and woods to the west of Canterbury, past Bigbury Fort, No Man’s Community Orchard, Hop Gardens and the woods of Harbledown and Rough Common.

Please join us to experience the beauty of walking in Kent, meet others and connecting with nature.

  • Walk leader: Christina Fitzsimons from Refugee Tales
  • Start time: 11 am at Canterbury West train station
  • Finish time: Approximately 3.30 pm at Canterbury West Station
  • Walk length: 8 miles / easy
  • Please bring your own lunch and water
  • The walk is on country footpaths
  • Good footwear is recommended
  • Mentors for asylum seekers and refugees are also welcome to walk
