We are pleased to announce the North Downs Way 40th anniversary walks programme, delivered in collaboration with a number of partner organisations.

The walks listed cover the length of the trail so there’s something for everyone whether you want to walk in Surrey, Kent or Medway.

Our walk partners come from a very diverse background and will approach the walks very differently.

Walk the Chalk along the White Cliffs from Folkestone to Dover

Join a walk along the cliffs between Folkestone and Dover, taking in the extensive sea views and hearing about local history and wildlife along the way, including listening ears and rare butterflies and plants.

This walk takes in part of the recently established ChalkUp21 trail of 21st Century Art and Architecture, created by Dover Arts Development, and we will be joined by a local architecture to explain the importance of these modern gems.

MEET: Folkestone Central Train Station, Cheriton Road, Folkestone, Kent, CT19 5HD

LEADER: Iona Dubieniec, Up on The Downs & Kent Downs AONB
