Give this vast, challenging walk a go, exploring the historic village of Northbourne and uncovering the striking Kent coal mines of Tilmanstone, Snowdown and Betteshanger.

This vast walk starts from Northbourne Village Hall Car Park. This walk visits’ the sites of the Kent coal mines of Tilmanstone, Snowdown and Betteshanger, which all closed in the 1980s. This industrial heritage walk also visits some of the former pit villages and walkers will be able to see two monuments in memory of the Kent miners. A lunch stop will be at Goodnestone, or feel free to bring a picnic lunch.

This walk is at a moderate pace, brisk and flat surface.
