Race to find as many different species possible in 48 hours! Plants, birds, insects, mammals, fish, and anything else… Everything we find during the BioBlitz will create a ‘species record’ which feeds into national databases that monitor our wildlife – citizen science in action!
When and where is the event? Activities and guided walks will take place on 19th-20th August. Each walk lasts 2 hours and will leave from the veranda at the Bedgebury Visitor Centre entrance. Our guided walks will need to be booked in advance, but you may also visit one of the drop in, family-friendly events which will be running from 10am-4pm both days. Click here for more information.
How do I book onto a guided walk? What will I learn? You’ll learn all about your local forest from our resident experts, who’ll take you on an exciting journey of discovery. Walks include: · Early Bird Walk and Bird Ringing · Small Mammal Walk · Pinetum Discovery Tour · Wild Flower Walk · Bat Walk Walk bookings will be taken by the Friends of Bedgebury. £10 per adult (16 years+), £5 per child (ages 8-15).
