Study Day 3 – Amphibian Ecology & Survey Techniques

Learn to identify widespread British amphibian species and understand some of their habitat requirements.  Includes an evening survey session by torchlight.

This study day begins with a session and coffee in the visitor centre at Bough Beech covering amphibian ecology and identification followed by a look at some of the ponds on the reserve to assess their potential for amphibians in general and great crested newts in particular.  The day will be rounded off by a look at amphibian survey techniques and a torchlight survey.
