Adjacent to Whinless Down, High Meadow is a rolling downland stretching right into the town of Dover; it is home to colourful flowers, and butterflies.

Volunteer conservation tasks this winter will mostly include clearing scrub and bramble, maintaining footpaths, steps, gates and fences.

You can take home any logs you cut while working to improve the chalk downland.

LEADER: Matt Weiss, White Cliffs Countryside Partnership (07880 706993).

MEET: Near the concrete steps (opposite Anselm Road), Noah’s Ark Road, Dover.
