Join us for a free concert expressing the spirit of pilgrimage past and present, in music and words, in Charing’s Parish Church of St. Peter & St. Paul’s. The programme will be a mixture of acapella singing provided by the CLScholars male singers, interspersed with words inspired by pilgrimage read by Charing residents.

Following the concert refreshments will be available in the adjacent Church Barn together with a small display about pilgrimage and its relevance to Charing and the surrounding area. Whilst enjoying your refreshments music will be provided by the ‘Pilgrim Pipers’.

This concert is the last of a series of activities delivered by Charing Palace Trust this year, in collaboration with Kent Downs AONB Unit, to mark the 40th anniversary of the opening of the North Downs Way Trail in 1978. Supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

The trail, linking Farnham in Surrey with Canterbury and Dover, follows part of the ancient Pilgrims Way from Winchester to Canterbury and makes a unique contribution to Charing’s rich heritage.

As seating in the Church is limited, entrance will be by ticket only, to ensure the comfort of all. If you would like to join in what promises to be a highly enjoyable celebration, please contact, Keith Adams, on 01233 712280 or by email at keith@charingpalace.org to obtain your free ticket.
