Orchard Activity Day: Kids Heritage Orchard Juicing Workshops.

Everyone loves apple juice and it’s something the whole family can enjoy, but have you ever thought about where is comes from and how it is made?

Well look no further than our lovely orchards of the National Fruit Collection and the Brogdale Collections Heritage Orchards this summer & autumn where we are giving children a unique opportunity to explore where our apples are growing and find out what happens to them.

Come along to Brogdale during our apple harvesting season and walk through our orchards where you will  see more than 3000 varieties of fruit trees including apples, cherries, pears and plums. Then, there is an opportunity to pick some apples from our special heritage orchards and have a go at making freshly pressed juice!

Come along and visit our heritage orchards and you can:

  • Wander through the apple orchards tasting and picking lots of different apple varieties
  • Join the group to prepare apples for juicing
  • Work together pressing apples to make fresh apple juice
  • Taste the delicious juice you have helped to produce
  • Take home some apple juice in a reusable Brogdale water bottle (included with each child ticket)

Ticket price:

£15.00 per child plus accompanying adult

Additional child £10.50

Additional adult tickets can be purchased on the day

Child ticket includes reusable Brogdale water bottle.

Due to the nature of the equipment all children must be accompanied by an adult at all times with extra supervision needed for under 4yrs.

All visits need to be pre-booked.

Brogdale has a fruit tree nursery, farm shop and café on site. (Closed on Mondays)

Unlimited free parking & accessible toilets.

Dogs not permitted in the orchards at anytime.
