Insect Study Day – Beetles and Grasshoppers
A two-part session. Chalk downland is particularly rich in insects, and this session will be using keys and identification guides to look at two important groups. In the morning, we will be joining members of Ranscombe’s Wildlife Study Group to find and try and identify dung-beetles and other ground-living beetles of chalk downland. In the afternoon, we will have a session on finding and identifying grasshoppers and bush-crickets. Both sessions are suitable for beginners.
LOCATION: Ranscombe Farm, Court Farm, Pilgrims Road, Upper Halling, Rochester, Kent, ME2 1HR
LEADER: Richard Moyse (Ranscombe Project Manager)
Please wear suitable outdoor clothing and stout shoes, and bring a packed lunch; please note that we will be outdoors for the whole session, and that Ranscombe has no toilet facilities.
No dogs please.
