Join Michael, a North Downs Way and GeoPark Ambassador, for a leisurely wellbeing amble in and around the mindful and picturesque village of Halling as part of National Walking Month and to celebrate the year anniversary of the North Kent Woods and Downs NNR (National Nature Reserve)
Halling, sits in a beautiful valley location, on the banks of the River Medway on one side and the imposing Kent Downs on the other, surrounded by open meadows, farm and woodland wrapped around it like a warm blanket.
Walk a little out of the village and its not long before, the stunning views can be seen for miles around, including views of the azure blue lake, that is also at the heart of the village.
The ancient woodland on the way and along a section of the North Downs Way will bring to us a chorus of birdsong including blackcaps, robins, blackbirds, whitethroats and the light through the beech and other trees is mesmerising.
Along the way we will stop for some mindful and wellbeing activities for those who would like to engage with these.
We will also stop at Court Farm, a long standing award winning farm with shop, cafe and toilets.
This is a leisurely walk / amble for those who enjoy walking while connecting with nature, which will include some optional mindful stops, storytelling, and poetry.
There are some steep up and down hill sections, so it might be worth bringing along walking poles although, there will be natures own aids that we can borrow.
