Join us for a guided walk of Sevenoaks Wildlife Reserve, taking some time to observe the birds found there over the summer months. Your guide will be one of the reserve’s dedicated volunteers, who knows exactly what to look out for!

The breeding season should now be in full swing, and although the quantity of birdsong will have greatly reduced from its Spring peak, the young of some species should be visible, including the geese, ducks and great crested grebes. On a sunny day swifts, swallows, and both species of martins may be feeding over the lakes in good numbers, and summer is the peak period for kingfisher sightings as they hunt for fish to feed their young. July is also the best month for butterflies and dragonflies on the reserve.

We recommend you bring a pair of binoculars to make the most of this walk. The paths around the reserve are good, but in the event of prior rain it could be muddy underfoot, so please wear sturdy footwear.

After the walk the Visitor Centre will be open so you can enjoy a hot or cold drink, or browse the selection of wildlife books and other items in the shop. Toilets are available at the start and end of the walk. This walk is recommended for over 12s only.
