Join a local expert on a 11k (7miles) walk starting in the picturesque village of Chilham at the White Horse and following the North Downs Way through Kings Wood to the Tickled Trout in Wye. Along the way it passes through glorious woods, past an ancient church used by pilgrims and through an organic farm renowned for its apple orchards. As this is part of the Ale of the Trail you will have the opportunity to sample some of the ales for which this part of Kent is famous.
Finish: The Tickled Trout Wye at 16:00hrs approximately
Dogs: well behaved on leads as there are deer and other animals in Kings Wood
Children: children over the age of 12, under parental supervision
Walk leader: Chris Anthony, North Downs Way Ambassador and Volunteer Warden with over 40 years’ experience leading walks and volunteering on the National Trail.
Walk Level: Moderate. Mainly flat, even surfaces.
Equipment: Sturdy walking shoes, water and wear clothing suitable for the weather
Travel: Trains to Chilham from Ashford, Wye or Canterbury. Then a short walk from the station to The White Horse. Return from Wye Station. If travelling by car there is parking in the main car park at the bottom of Chilham. Signposted from main road. There is a small car park at Wye Station.
