Our work in the winter is predominantly based in area on the estate known as the Long Pits.

These pits were originally excavated for gravel but now the area is a rich habitat, which needs our help to ensure it continues to thrive.

Targeted to conserve and increase scarce plants and wildlife in the shingle habitat, the tasks vary but include mowing, slashing and cutting back shrubs/trees, burning cut materials and infrastructure works.

LEADER: Jake Jones, Romney Marsh Countryside Partnership (07969 822691).

MEET: Dungeness Road (at the Top of the Long Pits) by the Junction of Kerton Road, Dungeness (TR 082 1989).
