Studying bird behaviour is one of the most fascinating aspects of watching birds and can boost your enjoyment and birdwatching skills. This online course will provide an introduction to the various different forms and aspects of bird behaviour, identify specific types of behaviour that are characteristic of certain species and family groups, and help you be a better birder through the awareness these behaviours.

Each evening will take roughly 1.5 to 2 hours, and will consist of interactive discussions and a 1 hour presentation using photos, illustrations, videos and sounds to bring the fascinating subjects alive. Therefore, participants viewing the sessions on a large screen will get maximum benefits of the use of different media. Hand-outs will be issued via email throughout the course.

By the end of the course it is expected that you will have:
- Gained confidence in identifying Britain’s birds and the birding year with improved behavioural knowledge.
- Gain an understanding of each families’ distinctive behaviours
- Gain an understanding of how certain behaviours will benefit a species within the habitats they have adapted to live in.
