Discover why Henry VIII was forced to build a 2.5 mile long fortress as you explore the invasion threat of `1539.

You will visit all three castles and the bulwarks too, as well as learn about Deal’s shady smuggling past!

This is a family friendly ride. The route is mainly on quiet roads, the seafront and National Cycle Network Route 1 cycle path.

Riders with just about any sort of roadworthy bike, including folders and ebikes, are welcome.

As this is an evening ride please remember to bring lights.

The ride will be at an easy pace, flat, with lots of stops.
