Churchills Great Escape Family Trail – Chartwell

Daily from 19 January to 21 February from 10am to 4pm.

Take on our trail that goes in tandem with our winter exhibition. Explore the gardens and woodland finding out about Churchill’s escape from a prisoner of war camp in South Africa during the Boer War. Plan your own great escape, will you choose to climb over a wall, dig to safety or escape in a lorry?

Spot hidden items to find your way to freedom and when you’re finished head over to the shop to be rewarded with a certificate of bravery. Children are more than welcome & dogs on leads are welcome. Please wear suitable clothing for walking.  The grounds are partially accessible with steep slopes and some steps.
