- Westerham
On the 9th of June we will be strolling between Westerham and the home of Winston Churchill, Chartwell. Along the way we will learn about not one but two English heroes. General Wolfe the vanquisher of the French, who conquered Canada for the British. Then we will hear tales of Winston Churchill and how he liked to spend his time in his Kentish retreat, Chartwell. There were additional stories of politicians being barred from pubs, bi-lingual Scotsmen and questionable bricklaying skills. This walk will not include entry to Chartwell but we will still get to soak up the atmosphere of the war leaders residence.
Meeting Point: Darent Road Car Park 6 Hollingworth Way, Westerham TN16 1BS. The postcode shares its location with a housing estate but the car park and the estate are not connected. You want the car park off Brasted Road/A25 next to Quebec House.
