Travel back in time and to the far-flung continent of Asia this February half term at Emmetts Garden with famed explorer, Ernest Wilson.
In the late nineteenth- to early twentieth-centuries, Wilson travelled to Asia, and discovered a large range of plants, never seen before in the West. Many of these have been introduced to Emmetts Garden over the years, creating a wonderfully diverse collection of plants, especially originating from China.
Join us at Emmett’s to discover the ways in which plant hunters of old used to collect these plants from China with elaborate boxes transporting each back to England, as well as see some of these exotic plants we now have here in the gardens.
