A WALK ON THE DOWNS

Starting from the pub, you’ll walk across fields and along Gibraltar Lane to reach Crete Road West then climb to the top of Caesar’s Camp, a neolithic earthwork, and look out across Folkestone and the Channel Tunnel complex.  After climbing down to the road, you’ll follow the path along the top of the Downs with views across Hythe Bay; then turn inland across sheep pasture to reach historic Paddlesworth Church and return to the quaint and welcoming pub.

MEET: The Cat and Custard Pot pub, (please don’t park in the pub car park if you are not going in the pub after), Paddlesworth, CT18 8AD (TR 196 398).

DISTANCE: 5 miles (2.5 hours).

GRADE: 3 (stiles and steep hill)
