Commemorating the Centenary of Armistice Day

Commemorating the Centenary of Armistice Day

On 11 November 2018, we will mark the centenary of the Armistice and people across the world will give thanks and remember the bravery of those who fought, lived and died in the First World War.

An Oscar winning film maker Danny Boyle invites everyone to join him in marking 100 years since Armistice and the end of the First World War.  He captures the spirit of Armistice Day in his special project: Pages of the Sea which is a unique moment to say goodbye, together, to the millions of men and women who left their shores during the war, many never to return.

The Creative Foundation are honoured to be delivering this project in Folkestone, Sunny Sands beach near to the harbour.

While paying tributes to the first world war soldiers, you might like to make the most of the day and visit a nearby Royal Military Canal Path.

Celebrate our beautiful British trees with National Tree Week 25th November – 2nd December.
