Spencer Square Gardens is a little oasis with beautiful planting and plenty of benches for sitting and enjoying the sunshine and sea air. Visitors to the park with a interest in Art and History will enjoy spotting the two blue plaques on the properties around the square that denote where Van Gogh lodged and worked when he lived in the town. The gardens are maintained by the Friends of Spencer Square and open to all. The Tennis Courts, Cafe and bike hire make this a popular place for leisure activities.
