Lower Green Recreation Ground
Lower Green Recreation Ground, situated just off Lower Green Road in the heart of Pembury, has benefited from investment over the last few years, and now features a lot of new play equipment and a modern pavilion for sports and community activities. The new pavilion, opened in 2008, has an excellent set of facilities, which all meet Sport England’s strict specifications. Mostly used by local football clubs, the pavilion can also be hired for other leisure and sports events.
There are separate play areas for older and younger children, plus an enclosed multi-sports surface area and outdoor gym, all set around the edge of the large sports field. The recreation ground also has two tennis courts and is home to the local bowling green.
The park has good access to Marshley Harbour Woods, a large area of mature pines, coppiced chestnut and open glades, meaning time spent enjoying the sports or play equipment can be easily combined with a walk through a beautiful, peaceful natural setting.
Easy access information
This park and open space has well surfaced routes suitable for visitors with pushchairs and/or wheelchairs, and has no width restricting features, such as stiles or non RADAR kissing gates.
