Hartsdown Park and Tivoli Park
The land that now forms the park and woodlands were originally owned by the Hatfeild family who owned much of the land in and around Margate. Hartsdown House was the Hatfeild family home and it can still be seen at the edge of the park, although it is now a children’s day nursery. The Fitness Gym and Swimming Pool/Sports Hall in the park are run by Thanet Leisure Force. Hartsdown Park has tennis courts and a play area. It adjoins the Margate Football Ground, and football and cricket pitches are available for hire by contacting Thanet Leisure Force. Tivoli Woods at the south eastern end of the park has mature trees and a several pathways running through it, as well as lots of wildlife, including woodpeckers and parakeets.
