Culverstone Recreation Ground
Culverstone Recreation Ground lies to the south of Meopham at Culverstone. Its huge open areas can be accessed from Mountfield Close, and free parking is available by the adjacent Culverstone Community Hall.
Spread out over the huge grassy area are three formal football pitches and two five-a-side pitches, while next to the Community Hall there is also a play area for 4 to 12 year olds. Here you’ll find a hard paved area for basketball and junior football.
The site also attracts dog walkers and ramblers, as public footpaths link the site with other areas.
There are picnic tables available at the recreation ground’s northern end, near the playground, while the eastern side of the open area is suitable for use by horse riders.
The fields are available for hire at certain times of the year, and are often used for camping and caravanning at certain times when large number of tourists are expected in the area, such as during the 2012 Olympics.
