In partnership with Kent Downs National Landscape
Enjoy the glorious countryside scenery while riding through the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty near Ashford – an area rich in flora and fauna with a wide range of habitats.
The routes take advantage of bridleways, byways and sections of quiet minor roads. Special care is needed along the narrow, twisting lanes.
Sections of the North Downs Way National Trail are open to riders in this area.
The routes run close to Wye National Nature Reserve with its chalk grassland and woodland on steep coombes.
Not only is the reserve home to 21 recorded orchid species, it also features the Devil’s Kneading Trough, a dry, steep-sided valley formed by peri-glacial action near the end of the last ice age.
