The ancient town of Faversham, known as the “Market Town of Kings”, with its wonderful overhanging buildings, spectacular Market place and ancient Guildhall, all take on a completely different look at Christmas time.

The streets are zigzagged with several miles of cables carrying thousands of brightly coloured bulbs, shop fronts are adorned with seasonal features and illuminated Christmas trees.  The centrepiece each year is the market place with a huge tree dominating the square and strings of lights reaching from it in every direction and above the Post Office is a special seasonal greeting, turn another corner and find a larger than life Christmas candle.

If you’d like to explore the area little further, there are some wonderful walking routes available taking you across marshes, through cornfields, along country lanes and through some beautiful apple orchards.
