Get Back to the Bike – Canterbury Cycle Rides

The ride explores Canterbury’s city centre cycle paths and the traffic free routes leading across the city and into the beautiful Kent countryside along The Great Stour Way or The Crab and Winkle Way.. A small number of bikes will be available to borrow on the day should bikes prove un-roadworthy or a poor fit. Helmets are also available.

Ride for Fun, Fitness or simply the Smug Satisfaction of avoiding queues and parking fees!

We will also look at some simple tips on how to ride confidently in traffic and share the road with other road users. It’s all in the smile!

LEADER: Sarah Brown, Adrian Oliver and the Cycling Age/Hot Chilli Cycles team; all government registered Bikeability Instructors and all over 50.

MEET: Toddler’s Cove Car Park, Whitehall Road, CT2 8BG. All meeting points have refreshments, toilets and affordable if not completely free parking.

DISTANCE: Under 10 miles.  Total event time of approximately 2.5 hours with 1 to 1.5 hours in the saddle. The total time includes bike checks, preparing for a ride and using off road and on road cycle routes. The team are also available over lunch to discuss cycling in Kent; from routes to clubs and rides at any level.
